Aerospace Education
Operations in Civil Air Patrol means providing manpower to assist the community in response to critical situations. CAP has traditionally been a leading ground and air force in Search and Rescue operations for downed aircraft, and mission persons in the contintental US.

Missouri CAP served a central role in Disaster Relief during the 1993 floods, as well as tornadoes, ice storms, and etc. CAP maintains readiness to respond to all sorts of emergencies with its Statewide Radio Communications Network which operates on CAP-only frequencies.

CAP also participates in some air and ground Radiological Monitoring as well as passively assisting law enforcement with Counterdrug Operations. Finally, CAP is ready to expand its roles to help on the new Homeland Defense front.
Cadet Program exists to motivate young men and women to ideals of leadership and service.

Cadets wear a military style uniform and participate in unit meetings, and activities. There are 16 ranks that cadets progress through, from cadet Airman, to cadet Colonel. Along the way, there are tests over text, physical fitness tests once a month, and drill, customs and courtesies practice as well as staff positions as responsibility increases.

Cadets are fully eligible to participate in emergency services operations, and also will participate in aerospace education activities, events, and field trips.

Some special events that cadets do are Color Guard, State and National Drill Competition, National Cadet Special Activities, and Encampment.
Aerospace Education is a mission that Civil Air Patrol assumed after its operational involvement in World War II. It was during that war that Air Power was demonstrated to be a prevailing factor in the military and economic stability of a nation. Part of CAP's mission is to educate the public as to the advantages of a strong Aerospace foundation.

The Internal Aerospace Ed program focuses on teaching CAP members about Air Power. This includes text materials required for the cadets, and optional for the senior members, tours and trips to military and corporate facilities, hands on learning activities or lab experiments, keeping up to date on aerospace current events, and presentations by people who work in the aerospace community.

The External Aerospace Ed program is a national level campaign, to inform the general public about the merits of Air Power. CAP hosts a National Convention each year, as well as sponsoring seminars to the public.
